Hannah has worked and lived around animals her whole life. After completing her Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management at Hartpury College in 2013 she went to work full time in a local animal shelter, where she worked for 5 years with hundreds of rescue dogs and other animals, all with various behavioural issues and temperaments.
Her idea for a local and affordable pet care and dog walking service came from the lack of professionals in this field in Tewkesbury and the surrounding areas, when kennel space was short at the kennels it would take a lot to find somewhere for her young, rescue Border Collie to go and realised many people must have this problem when they are working and don't want to leave the beloved pet alone all day.
This is where 'Active Animals' was born, a reliable, flexible, professional pet care and dog walking service, Hannah is extremely active and walks for many hours a day in the local countryside with her own dogs, Ruby the Terrier cross and Ernie her Border Collie. Over the years Hannah has owned many different pets, from goldfish, hamsters, guinea pigs and a cat, and has an extensive knowledge and love for all things animal! She also takes part in regular field, tracking and obedience training, as well as canicross and 'bikejor' with Ernie and has a particular interest in reactive dogs.
In 2017 Jo joined the team to help Active Animals grow, along with a new van allowing the business to expand and offer a wider range of services.
